Symptoms of Gynecologic Cancers
Gynecologic cancer symptoms vary according to the specific cancer. Some gynecologic cancers may have similar symptoms. Symptoms vary depending on the person, the cancer and stage. In some cases, women may not experience any symptoms.
Symptoms of cervical cancer include:
- Unusual vaginal discharge
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding
- Pain in the pelvic area
Symptoms of endometrial cancer include:
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding
- Pain during urination or sex
- Pain, lump or pressure in the lower belly
- Unexplained weight loss
Symptoms of ovarian cancer include:
- Abdominal discomfort
- Indigestion, nausea, gas or heartburn
- Bloating or sense of fullness, even after eating only a small amount of food
- Diarrhea or constipation
- Vaginal bleeding
- Backache
- Fatigue
- Unexplained weight loss
- Loss of appetite
- Frequent urination
- Shortness of breath caused by fluid buildup in the lungs
Symptoms of vaginal cancer include:
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding
- Abnormal discharge
- A lump or growth
- Pain during urination or sex
- Frequent pelvic pain
- Constipation
Symptoms of vulvar cancer include:
- Constant itching or burning in vulvar area
- An open sore that lasts more than a month
- Changes in the vulva's appearance or color
- Skin on the vulva that looks white or feels rough
Symptoms of uterine cancer include:
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding
- Painful, difficult and/or frequent urination
- Pain during sex
- Frequent pelvic pain
Symptoms of fallopian tube cancer include:
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding
- Pelvic pain or pressure
- Unusual vaginal discharge
- A lump or mass in the pelvic area
