Treatments and Locations

  • A neurosurgical shunt is a surgically implanted catheter that is used to drain cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) into another area of the body where it can then be absorbed, lowering intracranial pressure.
  • Dural venous sinus stenting is endovascular stenting of the dural venous sinus that may lessen symptoms of IIH in some patients. Venous sinus stenting is a minimally invasive treatment involving a stent placed across the area of stenosis to keep the sinus open.
