Symptoms of an Osteoporotic Fracture

The main symptoms of an osteoporotic vertebral fracture include:

• Sudden onset of back pain
• Pain that gets worse with standing or walking
• Pain that lessens with lying down
• Limited spinal mobility, especially when trying to bend or twist
• Stooped posture or hump-shaped back
• Loss of height (as much as six inches)
• Numbness, weakness and loss of bowel and bladder control
