Gluteus Medius Repair
Tears of the gluteus medius can be a significant source of hip pain and dysfunction. If the tears do not respond to physical therapy treatments, they can be repaired surgically. This involves sewing of the torn part of the gluteus medius back to the bone using tiny suture-anchors.
Rehabilitation
Patients will spend six weeks in a hip brace, and use crutches or an assisted device to restrict full weight-bearing and protect the repair during the early healing phases.
