5.0 star star star star starDr. Patel is a great doctor, much respected and admired by the Northwestern professional health care community. I feel very fortunate to be one of his patients [except, as I've said, that it can be very difficult to connect with him, as questions about treatment et al pop-up]. Unlike some doctors I've seen, who are so overworked that they do not have time to read my medical history, this is not the case with Dr. Patel. It is abundantly clear to me that before my appointment, Dr. Patel has carefully studied that history. As a result of his thorough preparation, I become the beneficiary of his insightful, knowledgeable, wise and empathic analysis of my cardio condition, and I very much value his proposals for treatment. To appropriate a much overused phrase, I definitely feel I'm in 'good hands,' having him on my case.

5.0 star star star star starhe is direct, seems very knowledgeable, and it feels like he and I are a team in addressing my heart disease. He had read my notes and questions ahead of our meeting. I felt respected and see, heard.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Patel has a wonderful disposition and seems to care for his patients. He takes the time to answer any and all questions and doesn't rush his patient. He exhibits concern patience and speaks to the patient in laymen's terms rather than complicated medical language. He makes me feel comfortable with his medical knowledge.

5.0 star star star star starAlthough I have only seen Dr. Patel once, I immediately was convinced that I was in 'good hands.' He is knowledgeable and insightful and thorough, easy to work with and caring, the world class professional I expected from Northwestern. [I also had a very positive experience discussing my heart failure problems and treatment with the fellow in his office, Dr. Jacqueline Urban.]

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
