In 2012, U.S. News & World Report ranked Northwestern Memorial’s neurology and neurological surgery programs 11th nationwide. The Auxiliary Board has pledged its support to an innovative research study exploring how, why, and when bleeding in the brain results in ischemic stroke, or loss of blood flow to a part of the brain. Researchers are working to identify effective treatment options for this type of stroke in order to prevent serious complications in patients’ physical health and quality of life.
