Northwestern Memorial Achieves Most Wired Recognition

Most Wired 2014 Winner AwardNorthwestern Memorial Hospital has been listed as one of the nation’s “Most Wired” hospitals based on the results of the 2014 Health Care's Most Wired Survey released in the July issue of the American Hospital Association’s (AHA) flagship publication, Hospitals & Health Networks magazine. The annual survey examines how hospitals use information technology to address clinical quality and safety issues, business and administrative management, infrastructure, and clinical integration with other healthcare settings.
Since the award began in 1999, Northwestern Memorial has been recognized as a “Most Wired” hospital 14 times for its innovative use of information technology to improve patient care.

“Our commitment to advancing the safety, quality and efficiency of patient care with information technology remains strong,” said Jay Anderson, senior vice president of performance improvement and chief information officer for Northwestern Medicine. “Being recognized for the 14th time as a ‘Most Wired’ hospital is a clear demonstration of that commitment, and our continuous efforts to become even better for our patients with strategic investments in information technology and state-of-the-art facilities.”

The AHA’s Hospitals & Health Networks magazine, compiles the list annually using survey results from nearly 2,000 hospital and health systems in the United States. A full list of award winners can be found online.
