Northwestern Memorial Hospital has been chosen by GE as one of the company’s national centers of excellence for total hip and knee replacement surgery. GE is offering coverage to program eligible members who have total hip or knee replacement surgery at Northwestern Memorial that includes reduced out of pocket expenses and travel reimbursement.

Members will have the opportunity to receive treatment at one of the nation’s premier destinations for joint replacement. Northwestern Memorial consistently ranks among the top hospitals for orthopaedics in U.S. News & World Report’s annual “Best Hospitals” ranking.

“Northwestern Memorial is excited to provide high quality orthopaedic care to GE and its health plan members,” said Terrance Peabody, MD, chair of the department of orthopaedic surgery at Northwestern Memorial and the Edwin Warner Ryerson professor of orthopaedic surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. “Our joint replacement specialists are nationally recognized leaders for their work in risk stratification, pain management and rehabilitation, and complication prevention. Using innovative techniques and advanced technology, our surgeons are able to help patients with joint pain return to their normal, active lives.”

As part of this partnership, Northwestern Memorial will offer bundled services for hip and knee replacement at fixed prices providing both quality care and value to GE and its employees. GE members will receive care from joint specialists David Manning, MD, and Matthew Beal, MD, at the Center for Comprehensive Orthopaedic and Spine Care (CCOSC) in the 259 E. Erie Pavilion, the newest addition to Northwestern Memorial’s downtown Chicago campus. The center brings the full-spectrum of joint replacement needs together under one roof. From pre-operative appointments, surgery, follow-ups and rehabilitation, patients receive care in one convenient place.
