The recognition takes into account benefits such as maternity leave, compensation, flexible work hours, career advancement programs and number of women represented in the workplace. Selections are made after reviewing applications submitted by companies and organizations that include responses to more than 450 questions.

Last year, Northwestern Memorial HealthCare was inducted into the Working Mother Hall of Fame for making the list 15 years in a row. In our 16th year of recognition, Working Mother noted family-friendly offerings for the workforce, including extended leave time for education and personal reasons and free guidance counseling for mothers who pursue college careers

“Women at this academic health system are embracing a new model of success, one that allows them to increase or decrease their hours to make room for what’s important, and move as needed between full-time, part-time and casual positions,” the list entry reads.
