Treating the Different Dermatology Issues Specific to Ethnic Skin
Northwestern MedicineDermatology July 29, 2014
Not everyone’s hair, skin and nail health care needs are the same. Many ethnicities have biological factors that can impact the skin in different ways and create especially dry or oily skin, acne, scarring problems (known as keloids) or pigmentary disorders, where skin may have especially dark or light patches of skin. However, these concerns, and others are treatable.
Northwestern Medicine dermatologist Roopal Kundu, MD, and director of the Northwestern Center for Ethnic Skin, discusses the nature of ethnic skin issues and how the Northwestern Center for Ethnic Skin works to address them.
