Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital's Women's Auxiliary Board Awards $33,500 in Academic Scholarships

LAKE FOREST, IL – The Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital Women’s Auxiliary Board recently awarded its annual academic health care scholarships to 32 recipients. The $5,000 Marion Warner Hodgkins Scholarship was awarded along with 31 A.B. Dick Jr. scholarships, ranging from $500 to $3,000 each. The recipients are students pursuing health care careers or professionals continuing their education in a health care field. Each year, the winners are selected on the basis of criteria such as outstanding academic achievement and exceptional promise in the field of health care.
The 2008 Marion Warner Hodgkins Scholarship winner is Stacy Mustari. Stacy is a Vernon Hills High School graduate and a first-year student in the Carroll College Doctorate of Physical Therapy (PT) program. Stacy has volunteered in the PT department at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital where she has been involved with a kickboxing program for underprivileged children. She has also volunteered at Midwest Gymnastics for children with developmental disabilities. Stacy will participate in an internship at an orthopedic practice in Libertyville and will present a research paper at the American Physical Therapy Association National Conference. In addition, Stacy has studied and volunteered in Costa Rica and Mexico.
The $5,000 Marion Warner Hodgkins Scholarship is named for the first president of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital’s Women’s Auxiliary Board, who also volunteered for more than 50 years at the hospital. A.B. Dick Jr. was an active chairman of the Board of Directors; his family donated the land for Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital.
