Doctors Michelle Lee and Lisa Miller bring expertise to subspecialty
LAKE FOREST, IL — Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital welcomes two experienced radiologists to its newly-restructured Diagnostic Imaging department. Doctors Michelle Lee and Lisa Miller will lead an important subspecialty, focusing solely on breast imaging. An emphasis on subspecialties is new for Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, which recently doubled the size of its imaging network.
“We are excited to welcome Doctors Michelle Lee and Lisa Miller,” said Jeffrey L. Rosengarten, M.D., Medical Director of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital’s Diagnostic Imaging department. “With these highly-qualified doctors leading our breast imaging subspecialty, we can make the correct diagnosis sooner, saving critical time for our patients.”
Dr. Lee comes from a faculty position at Washington University, St. Louis, Mo. She completed her radiology residency and breast imaging fellowship at Washington University after graduating with honors from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. She and her husband, Richard Lee, M.D., reside in Lake Forest. They have two young daughters.
Dr. Miller joins Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital from the Medical College of Wisconsin where she was co-director of the Breast Imaging Section. She did a breast imaging fellowship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she also completed medical school and a residency in diagnostic radiology. She was an attending radiologist at Evanston Hospital and Assistant Professor of Radiology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Miller received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University where she was in the Honors Program in Medical Education. She and her husband, John Miller, M.D., reside in Lake Forest. They have two grown sons.
Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital now operates one of the most expansive imaging networks in the area, with eight locations in Lake and northern Cook counties. Screening mammograms are currently available at the main Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital campus, the Grayslake campus, both Gurnee imaging locations, and the hospital’s imaging locations in Bannockburn and Vernon Hills.
The nearly 30 radiologists on staff are divided into subspecialties. Just as breast images are read by radiologists who specialize in breast imaging, orthopedic images are read by radiologists who specialize in orthopedics and neurology images are read by radiologists who specialize in neurology and neurosurgery.
