The 2010 Welles Memorial Community Lecture Series: Healing With Humor

LAKE FOREST, IL –  Second City is bringing its famous sketch comedy to Lake Forest for a show that will be free to all attendees. The performance is part of the Welles Memorial Community Lecture Series, a yearly cancer event put on by Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital. This year’s event emphasizes humor’s role in the healing process. The old saying, “Laughter is the best medicine,” rings true, after all.

Come to the Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest ready to laugh on Wednesday, October 27. The not-to-be-missed evening begins at 7:00 p.m. and will continue until 9:00 p.m.

The annual Welles Lecture is sponsored by an endowment from the family of Betty & Edward Welles. The series has educated the local community on cancer for more than 20 years. Past events included discussions with prominent authors and informative question and answer sessions with physicians. The event is one of the many Community Health programs Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital sponsors throughout the year to help keep our community healthy.
