Community input to play key role in project
LAKE FOREST, IL – Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital took its first step toward revitalizing its Lake Forest campus by presenting its broad vision for the future to the City of Lake Forest Plan Commission on Wednesday, September 13.
“We’ve been a part of this community for more than 100 years. While our commitment to the community hasn’t changed, medicine and medical technologies certainly have. We need to stay on top of that curve,” Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital President Thomas J. McAfee said.
“Since we affiliated with Northwestern Memorial HealthCare 18 months ago, we have introduced a number of advanced clinical specialties here in Lake Forest. This campus revitalization project is another step in our comprehensive and long-range plan to provide world-class healthcare that local residents deserve, right in their own backyard.”
The hospital intends to complete its master plan for the campus by the spring of 2012. Input from the local community will be sought throughout the project through community open houses and interactive communications on its website. The first open house was held prior to this week’s Plan Commission meeting. Community members are invited to share their thoughts and add their names to a mailing list to stay informed about the project updates by visiting its website.
