U.S. News nationally ranks Central DuPage Hospital’s orthopaedic program; hospital ranked top 8 In Illinois

WINFIELD, IL – Central DuPage Hospital’s (CDH) Orthopaedic Program has been ranked 26th in the country by U.S. News & World Report in its 23rd annual Best Hospitals rankings. This is the fourth time in the past six years CDH’s Orthopaedic Program has been ranked nationally and this, being the highest ranking to date.

Additionally, CDH, a member of Cadence Health, was ranked as one of the top eight hospitals in Illinois and received high-performing accolades for services including: Cardiology and Heart Surgery; Ear, Nose and Throat; Gastroenterology; Geriatrics; Gynecology; Nephrology; Neurology and Neurosurgery; Pulmonology and Urology.

“This recognition is a reflection of the dedication and commitment of the medical staff and caregivers who are focused on providing high-quality, compassionate care to the patients we serve,” said Michael V. Vivoda, Chief Executive Officer, Cadence Health. “Through their efforts, CDH has created an orthopedic program that offers patients the unique combination of patient-centered care with access to innovative medical treatment options.”

This year’s Best Hospitals showcases more than 720 of the nation’s roughly 5,000 hospitals. Fewer than 150 are nationally ranked in at least one of 16 medical specialties. The rest of the recognized hospitals met a standard of performance nearly as demanding in one or more specialties.

The hospital rankings, said U.S. News Health Rankings Editor Avery Comarow, are like a GPS-type aid to help steer patients to hospitals with strong skills in the procedures and medical conditions that present the biggest challenges. “All of these hospitals are the kinds of medical centers that should be on your list when you need the best care,” said Comarow. “They are where other hospitals send the toughest cases.”

The rankings were published by U.S. News & World Report in collaboration with RTI International, a research organization based in Research Triangle Park, N.C. View the complete rankings and methodology.
