LAKE FOREST, IL – “We selected the architectural team of HGA and Pelli Clarke Pelli to design a state-of-the-art healthcare facility because of their respect for the history and tradition of our community,” said Thomas J. McAfee, president of Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital. “The team will offer a combination of expertise in project management and healthcare knowledge, along with excellence in design to deliver world-class architecture to complement Lake Forest.”
The selection of the architectural team begins the design phase of the campus revitalization project. Last night, the Lake Forest City Council approved the master plan for the revitalization project, which will serve as a framework for the campus design and development. As the design for the new hospital, medical office facilities and landscape are developed over the coming year, the plans must be approved by the City of Lake Forest Plan Commission and City Council before construction begins.
“For more than 100 years, residents of Lake Forest and Lake County have come to this hospital for compassionate, high-quality care,” said Robert Parkinson, chairman of the board of directors for Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital. “The campus revitalization will provide the facilities needed to continue that care for the next century.”
