February 24, 2014
WINFIELD, IL – The Cadence Health Auxiliary ‘Style in Bloom’ Luncheon and Fashion Show will be held on Saturday, March 15, at Abbington Distinctive Banquets, 3S002 Route 53, at the corner of Route 53 and Butterfield Road, Glen Ellyn.
Doors will open at 11:00 a.m. with lunch served at 12:30 p.m. Fashions will be provided by Jeans and a Cute Top (locations in Wheaton, St. Charles and Downers Grove). Seating is limited for this popular event. Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance (by March 7).
Numerous raffle drawings are a big part of the fun and those tickets can be purchased at the luncheon. This event is the major fundraiser for the Cadence Health Auxiliary and will help fund the building of a Ronald McDonald House® near Cadence Health-Central DuPage Hospital (CDH) Campus. The house will provide a ‘home away from home’ for the families of children being treated at CDH, Delnor Hospital and CDH Cancer Campus in Warrenville.
The Cadence Health Auxiliary has raised and donated more than $10 million to the hospitals and the communities it serves. Some of the Auxiliary funded projects include a $5 million pledge to help fund the building of the Ronald McDonald House® near Cadence Health – CDH Campus, a $1 million pledge to the CDH Cancer Center, support of Dr. Cornwell and HomeCare Physicians, creation of a CDH nurse respite lounge, support of the Palliative Care Shawl program and complimentary inpatient newspaper service. In addition, since 1967, more than $1 million has been donated to annual scholarship awards that are presented to students majoring in healthcare careers.
Shopping at the CDH and Delnor Hospital Gift Shops and the Wise Penny Resale and Consignment Shop (in downtown Wheaton) further supports the many philanthropic efforts of the Cadence Health Auxiliary.
