Centegra Brings Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs to Huntley
Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital January 16, 2018
Cardiac rehabilitation helps patients heal after a heart attack, sudden cardiac arrest, heart surgery or similar incident. A study from the American College of Cardiology showed that patients who complete cardiac rehabilitation live up to five years longer than those who don’t. Pulmonary rehabilitation is designed to help people recover from or live with lung disease or other respiratory conditions. In multiple studies, patients who participate in pulmonary rehabilitation have been shown to have fewer hospitalization days than those who do not participate in pulmonary rehab.
Both programs include education and regular exercise sessions with monitoring of patient vitals.
The new location, within Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center at 10450 Algonquin Road on the Centegra Hospital-Huntley campus, offers a newly renovated space with new equipment and designated parking. This location joins the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation program offered at Centegra Hospital-McHenry, Suite B104, 4309 Medical Center Drive.
