Heart bypass surgery (CABG) volume
Heart bypass surgery, also known as coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery, creates a detour or bypass around the blocked or diseased portion of the coronary artery using an artery or vein from a different part of the body to restore the blood supply to the heart muscle.
CABG requires proficiency which may help to prevent serious complications, such as heart attack, stroke, and death. Higher volumes have been associated with better outcomes (e.g., fewer deaths).
