744, Illinois Department of Public Health,

Percentage of nursing hours worked by contractual RNs (Neonatal ICU)

If we don’t have all of our nursing positions filled or we need extra help to provide safe quality care, we may need to temporarily hire RNs who work for agencies outside of Northwestern Medicine. Agency nursing staff must meet compliance and licensure requirements.

About This Measure

This measure tracks the percentage of nursing hours worked by RNs, who are hired by agencies outside of Northwestern Medicine, in the neonatal intensive care unit. A lower number may indicate that a hospital provides a higher level of patient care.

Note:  You can view how we compare to other hospitals in the region at the Illinois Hospital Report Card and Consumer Guide to Health Care Web site:

For this measure, a lower number is better.
