For patients who are not at high-risk, beginning at age 50, a colonoscopy should be performed to look for polyps or abnormal growths. If no polyps are found and no biopsies of the colon tissue are taken during the procedure, it is important to have another colonoscopy in ten years.

This measure shows the percentage of patients aged 50 to 75 years whose colonoscopy did not require removal of a polyp or a biopsy of tissue, and who received a recommendation for having their next follow-up colonoscopy in 10 years.

For this measure, a higher number is better.
