Healthcare workers given influenza vaccination
Why is this measure important?
Many patients are admitted to the hospital every year with influenza. If hospital staff and healthcare workers are infected with the influenza (flu) virus, they can transmit the virus to coworkers and patients. It is important that healthcare workers get the flu vaccine to help prevent the spread of flu to patients and other coworkers.
What does this measure show?
This measure shows the percentage of all healthcare workers in a hospital that received the flu vaccine.
In this case a higher number is better.
