Respiratory Virus and Measles Information

Asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are the two most common respiratory conditions in the United States, each affecting approximately 20 million people. Northwestern Medicine provides comprehensive care for people living with asthma and COPD so they can manage their diseases effectively and live full and active lives. Clinical research is also a major focus of our mission, as we try to generate new knowledge regarding asthma and COPD and offer new state-of-the-art therapies to our patients.

Research and academics

The Northwestern Medicine researchers in asthma and COPD conduct their work through the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, within the Department of Medicine’s Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care.
