Welcome Message from Dr. Pandolfino, Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology

Digestive Diseases Week is an exciting time for the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and the Northwestern Medicine Digestive Health Center because this meeting provides an opportunity for the faculty and trainees to showcase their research and clinical expertise. This year, our team will have a major presence across the entire spectrum of digestive diseases with over 26 poster presentations and 30 oral presentations focused on original research. Many of our faculty will also be participating as moderators of these sessions, once again highlighting the depth of research being performed by the faculty. Our faculty are also heavily involved in the AGA Postgraduate Course as lecturers and also as disease-focused experts at the Meet the Professor Breakout Sessions. Additionally, the faculty will have a major presence during the clinical symposia with multiple high-profile presentations at plenary sessions and formatted debates on best-management approaches.

I am extremely proud of the dedication and work ethic of our team as we strive to complement great medical care with great academic productivity and innovation. Additionally, our robust training program and the productivity of the trainees at this DDW supports the value we place on our mission of training the next generation of excellent researchers and clinicians.
