Symptoms of Urinary Tract Infections

The most common symptoms of a UTI include:

  • Frequent urination
  • Pain or burning when urinating
  • Fever
  • Fatigue
  • Urine that looks dark, cloudy or reddish in color, indicating that blood may be present in the urine
  • Foul-smelling urine
  • Pelvic pain, especially in women
  • Pain in the back or side, below the ribs
  • Nausea and/or vomiting
  • A strong urge to urinate yields only a small amount of urine
