At Northwestern Medicine, our patient’s feedback is important to us. While different care providers have their own unique strengths, we strive to be as transparent as possible with our quality of care.
I was lucky to get an appointment right away but I waited a long time, well over an hour in total. I spent almost 45 minutes waiting for the doctor in an examination room, after waiting over 20 min to be called back.
Dr Stover provides me confidence. I ws very happy with inpatient care. I would like better pain management post hospitalization That has been tough. I also think recommending prop=op exercises would be helpful to strengthen the muscles before surgery
He was kind, explained everything well. Made me feel comfortable. I was 100% sure I was going to cry during the visit because its' been so long in so much pain. But he made me feel so taken care of -- hopelessness went away. thank you!
Interested in the patient, thoughtful, professional and very competent! A most successful surgery! Stringent infection control. Nurse Jackie and PA Karen complete the positive atmosphere in this practice! Very thorough and caring!
I Love Dr Stover and his team. He talks to you, listens to you, show you and explain what's going on. The attitude, care and professionalism are remarkable. Thanks to Dr Hall for recommending Stover to me.
Dr Stover has changed my life. To walk pain free with my wife children and even the dog has been something I never thought I would do again without serious pain. He was confident he could help me and he has been excellent from before to after surgery. I am a walking advertisement for him for anyone that needs hip replacement.
He is great at what he does and spends as much time as the patient needs to feel comfortable or ask all the questions they have. there is never a rush with him and i never ever feel like he cuts corners.
Dr. Stover was recommended by another Orthopedic surgeon as the best trauma surgeon in the Chicago area to give me the best odds of returning to a normal life after a bad skiing accident. It took several surgeries to repair several fractures, but he was thorough, informative and compassionate every step of the way. There were some disappointments, but I always knew ahead of time that there were no guarantees and it would be a difficult road ahead. He never gave up on consulting with others and offering options for subsequent surgeries to make things better. I walk today on my own 2 legs without pain and very close to normal walking gait. A far cry from the original surgery from the original surgeon in another hospital that left me in a wheel chair and his prognosis that my life would probably never be normal again.
With the exception of 1 recovery room nurse, everybody I encountered in my surgical visit was professional, compassionate and listened to me when I asked questions. They took the time to make sure I was comfortable and understood the procedure I was going through, as well as what to expect post surgically.
I can't rate any higher, because I haven't had that much experience with either the department or with Dr. Stover. However, I rated them higher than I normally would have with such little experience, based on my prior experiences at Northwestern.
Dr. Stover explained the anterior hip replacement very thoroughly, he was very informative..He answered all my questions - I knew what to expect from the outcome. .I am very grateful to Dr. Stover - I no longer experience the day to day chronic pain from the severe arthritis in my hip that affected my walking. .I am 3 weeks post - op and I am doing very well thus so far.
Dr. Stover, listened to all of my concerns and answered them to my satisfaction. I left our meeting confident that all of the information I needed and the description of the procedures that are going to follow were explained to me in clear, satisfactory manner. The orthopedic floor at Northwestern was so darn impressive, they are so organized logistically I feel comfortable doing business with them.
Dr. Stover was very thorough in his physical examination of my hips and in reviewing my imaging. I appreciate when doctors don't just go based on the MRI or x-ray reports and actually work to make their own diagnosis to come up with the most appropriate plan of care. I also appreciate that Dr. Stover isn't just jumping to surgery like a lot of doctors and wants to continue the diagnostic work needed to make sure we're going to be fixing the appropriate problem. I feel very good in his hands.
Dr. Stover spent a great deal of time with me and was very comprehensive in answering my questions. His PA was so nice and also comprehensive. I felt very cared for and always felt they had my best interests in mind. Feel very comfortable to have Dr. Stover and his team on my side and proceed with the future health of my hip.
I like him. I feel he must be one of the best hip surgeons out there. I have recommended him to my friend and she was very happy with her results. He communicates well and in a way I understand him. He is compassionate and has a sense of humor.
I appreciate the time that Dr. Stover and his staff spent with me in answering my questions. I appreciate the high level of detail in all aspects of their patient care. This includes preoperative and post-operative care. The PAs were always quick to return my phone call inquires. I am making very good progress with my surgery, thanks to Dr. Stover and his entire team. Thank y'all so very much!! ?
He listens. He does not appear to be in a hurry. He doesn't stand at the door with his hand on the door knob. He offers thoughtful answers to questions. I left with a high degree of confidence in Dr. Stover and his resident.
The practice as a whole has been well organized with treatment done well, with courtesy, and with consideration of me as a person..Dr. Stover is an excellent surgeon, but also has evidenced great care and concern for me and my health and well-being.
I've heard about his reputation for being an excellent doctor, and after seeing him at last week's appointment, his reputation is dead on. He is very thorough and is a wonderful communicator. He will be performing hip replacement for me in the near future and I'm relieved to know I'll be in good hands!
He is the greatest ! My main concern was after both hips done I would be even - no limping,( even),no pain and he did an amazing job! He is interested in the patient - he spends the time answering all questions - A++
I really like Dr. Stover. He has a great sense of humor and bedside manner. He is easy to talk to and I felt like he gave me all the time I needed to understand my condition. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be a lot of options for my chronic condition.
