5.0 star star star star starI have been a patient of Dr. Mendelson’s for over 20 years. She is the brightest and most caring physician I have ever encountered. She literally saved me from having unnecessary open heart surgery many years ago! She monitors me closely and treats me with the utmost respect - she has the human side in addition to the Dr. side and understands how stressful and emotional tests and Dr. appointments can be. I have referred other family members and friends to Dr. Mendelson as well and everyone agrees! I completely trust Dr. Mendelson to monitor my heart condition and know that I am in the best hands humanly possible.

4.0 star star star star star_borderShe seems knowedgeable about Congenital heart disease. She showed care and concern. I need to follow up with her after I get tests done to discuss test results and coordinate care with the electrophysiologist. So I need to wait to know how to proceed after test results.

5.0 star star star star starI highly recommend Dr. Marla Mendelson. I had to schedule an appt. with her and when I did, I was told that it would be like later months, Jan or Feb, can't remember. A day later, I received a call from her staff and said, that Dr. Mendelson wanted to see me sooner and to schedule me in. Less than a week, I had the appt with Dr. Mendelson and all went well at her office with her exam and tests she had instructed in her office. She is thorough and informative. I really like Dr. Marla Mendelson. She is a great asset to NM.

5.0 star star star star starHer approach is very by the book. She was pleasant to talk to you but unyielding about her beliefs against medication that I am used to taking. That probably makes her an excellent doctor, but she does not have my buy in completely. She’s also insisting that I repeat a stress test because it was done along time ago. I think I could provide the record but she didn’t seem interested.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Mendelson has always been and continues to be great. I’ve been seeing her since about 2012. Trust her completely and her expertise. She has an amazing bedside matter and although thankfully I don’t have to see her that often when I do she completely puts me at ease.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
