Dr. Batlle has developed a treatment for people who have their kidneys damaged by the specific drug I had been prescribed. He uses a relatively common generic diuretic that halts the disease from progression. His treatment has been an integral part of my leading a normal life instead of the effects of progressive kidney disease. My former GP commented that she was impressed at how his treatment had kept my kidneys working well for the decades she was my GP.

See above. Dr. Batlle pioneered using Moduretic (a specific diuretic) to slow the progression of my kidney damage, specifically caused by the application of a certainindividual medication in my past.

Dr. Batlle is a leader in his field, having pioneered the use of moduretic in the treatment of kidneys damaged in the manner mine are. He is attentive and easy to work with. He has worked hard for my health all the years I have known him.

External Professional Relationships

Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
