5.0 star star star star starHad great appointment with Dr. Ron Ackermann today, by far the best doctor I've ever met, in both art and science of medicine. His skill set is phenomenal -- keen analytics, high intelligence, innovative thinker, and the right mix of compassion and professionalism. Also explains things with interesting analogies and examples. He reminds me of classic movie superheroes who genuinely care about people -- and make the patient's world a safe, healing, hopeful place.

Dr. Ackermann answered all of my questions and encouraged me to reach out should I experience any issues; truly a well-rounded, intelligent and kind doctor!

5.0 star star star star starDr. Ackerman was compassionate, empathetic and clear in his delivery of medical advice. He did not rush through the telehealth call. Instead he took time to understand what was going on with me and provided explanations on likely causes of symptoms and recommended treatment. He was specific to my case and it was obvious he had read the file beforehand to know both my conditions and circumstances. He even gave me specific dates for isolation and what to watch for. I appreciated his authenticity and concern for my wellbeing.

And, of course, he was instrumental in accurately diagnosing a potentially serious illness and getting me the best team available to resolve it.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
