CHICAGO, IL – Northwestern Memorial HealthCare has been recognized
nationally as one of the “2014 Working Mother 100 Best Companies” for the 15th consecutive year as a
leader in fostering a family-friendly workplace by Working Mother magazine and is the only health system in Illinois
on the annual list compiled by Working
Mother magazine. In honor of this achievement, Northwestern Memorial
HealthCare has also been admitted into the Working Mother Hall of Fame.
“We are committed to providing a great place to work for our physicians, nurses and staff, all of whom play a critical role in our ability to advance Northwestern Medicine’s Patients First mission,” said Dean M. Harrison, President and CEO of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare. “We are honored to be admitted to the Working Mother Hall of Fame.”
Working Mother magazine selects its “Working Mother 100 Best Companies” from a detailed application of more than 550 questions about factors such as schedule flexibility, child care and paid leave. The application not only gauges whether these benefits are offered, but also whether or not employees are effectively utilizing them.
“We are proud to offer our employees benefits that include flexible schedules, career development, educational opportunities, tuition assistance and on-site child care. These important programs and benefits provide our employees with the support they need to provide the best care possible for our patients,” said Dean Manheimer, senior vice president of human resources at Northwestern Memorial HealthCare.
The “2014 Working Mother 100 Best Companies” list is featured in the October/November issue of Working Mother magazine and online at workingmother.com.
