Introduction

As the third-largest private employer in Illinois, Northwestern Medicine is committed to training and building the next generation of healthcare professionals. Our vision is to be the healthcare system of choice for STEM career exposure programs and job pathway opportunities for people who represent the diversity of the communities we serve. We offer educational programs for students and adults at all stages of workforce readiness. Opportunities include monthly rotations, summer internships, apprenticeships and on-the-job training. We have placed over 200 students with an internship over the past 5 years.
More than 10K students have participated in NM’s youth development programs over the past 30 years.
NM has a wide variety of paid clinical and non-clinical summer internship programs.
Over 3,000 Students Served
in our middle school through graduate level programs each year across our 11 hospital system.
