In the past decade our community has experienced considerable change. We've seen new stores and restaurants move into town, the new DeKalb High School open, and the Haish Memorial Library expand. And while we as a community have embraced these changes, excitedly trying the offerings of new businesses when they opened their doors, no change is more significant than the expansion of healthcare services available to our residents.

On December 1, 2015, KishHealth System officially became part of Northwestern Medicine, making it the newest member of a nationally renowned health network. With this new partnership, KishHealth System patients now have a direct connection to advanced specialists, as well as access to clinical trials offered through Northwestern Medicine.

"We are incredibly pleased to have reached this milestone with Northwestern Medicine. Our two organizations shared many values and a common emphasis on keeping patients at the center of all we do," says Kevin Poorten, President of KishHealth System, now part of Northwestern Medicine. "By joining Northwestern Medicine, we bring an expansion of resources and opportunities for advanced care to the communities we serve, and community members can feel confident that, with Northwestern Medicine, access to world- class, comprehensive, and convenient healthcare will be enhanced throughout our service areas long into the future."

As integration of KishHealth System into Northwestern Medicine continues, local residents will undoubtedly begin to feel the immeasurable benefits of joining Northwestern Medicine’s distinguished history of patient centered healthcare.
