Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Fitness Center receives prestigious accreditation as international leader in wellness

GENEVA, IL – Now in its twentieth year, Northwestern Medicine Delnor Health & Fitness Center has been renewed as a Certified Medical Fitness Facility by the Medical Fitness Association (MFA), a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting medically integrated wellness and fitness facilities achieve their full potential. This certification is a seal of approval that a facility meets the highest industry standards in providing for the health of the entire community. The Northwestern Medicine Delnor Health & Fitness Center is the only certified fitness center in the far western suburbs.

"The re-certification means the Northwestern Medicine Delnor Health & Fitness Center meets guidelines set by the MFA to ensure that our programs and services deliver medically integrated outcomes to its members, in addition to meeting quality and safety standards," said Brian Babka, MD, Northwestern Medicine Regional Medical Group Sports Medicine. "We are proud to offer a variety of exceptional and unique programs with an educated approach to help improve the fitness, health and well-being of the communities we serve."

The MFA certification matches the philosophy of well-being throughout the Northwestern Medicine system—a tangible goal Delnor Health & Fitness Center has been meeting for two decades. “The center has grown tremendously in 20 years, with regards to our medically integrated programming; fitness and group exercise programs; and state-of-the art equipment,” said Greer O’Brien, director of the Delnor Health & Fitness Center.
