Treatments for Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can be treated with medical therapy and/or surgical intervention.

To help prevent DVT, blood thinners or intermittent compression stockings and pumps are used in high-risk patients or patients undergoing high-risk surgical procedures to prevent a blood clot. Ask your doctor about these measures if you are undergoing surgery.
