Open Reduction Internal Fixation Metatarsal – Unilateral
The goal of open reduction internal fixation metatarsal surgery is to correct a fracture of one or more of the long bones of the foot. During this procedure, the surgeon will stabilize the bones using screws and hardware.
Rehabilitation
The foot will be placed in a splint. Weight-bearing on the foot is discouraged for six to eight weeks. Physical therapy may be beneficial during recovery.
