At Northwestern Medicine, our patient’s feedback is important to us. While different care providers have their own unique strengths, we strive to be as transparent as possible with our quality of care.
Dr. Tanner took over patient care for Dr. Nieves who I respected in a huge way. Dr. Tanner has put effort into getting to know his patients. He listens carefully, responds with intellectual knowledge. He is caring and confident.
NW has a remarkable staff. Doctors, nurses, phlebotomists, support staff... each and every human I have had contact with - since June of 2018 has been incredibly professional, remarkably caring and in spite of these challenging times.... dispositions are always friendly.
Everyone from lobby to doctor's office was courteous and helpful. It's nice that the person accompanying me was able to sit in the lobby unlike Evanston Hospital where they can't even step foot inside.
Everyone in the office is very friendly, but thorough, knowledgeable but not overbearing. I feel Dr Tanner is well versed in his field & gives great recommendations. He is also personable. He gets an A+ !!!!
Everyone from the check in desk to the nurses/PAs and doctors are very pleasant, making sure any questions or concerns are addressed. I feel everyone is doing their job to the best of their ability with an amazing attitude.
His personal interest in my survival and his concern for the details of a difficult surgery. Also, he is well-read on the latest stats regarding ovarian cancer. His concern and care for my husband was also so appreciated. He is very professional and knowledgeable, but kind and relatable. He treated us as real people, not just patients. So thankful that he is on my team!
Dr Tanner was amazing. Told me I don't have to come back because I'm cured. Listened to my issues. Noticed the pelvic pain I have and recommended seeing someone for therapy. No one else there has ever told me there's a way to fix the pain and I've been coming here for 9 years. WHY NOT??? He also told me I shouldn't be coming here, because I'm cured....so I want to understand why no one else told me this HUGE piece of info. I could have saved money, mileage, heartache and worry, and DAYS OFF. I do not understand, because this has been going on for 9 years now.
Dr Tanner spends quality time with patients, clear explanation of the procedures and what to expect before and after surgery, takes time to answer all questions and concerns. Seems to really care about his patients.
Dr. Tanner is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and gives great explanation helping me to understand in doctor and layman's terms what my disease is about and my plan of care/ treatment. I'm happy to have found a doctor that was able to work with me. I was literally in shock and had a great deal of fear. I still do have some fears but I do trust Dr. Tanner and his team. What really did it for me is on my initial visit my daughter wasn't allowed in. She shared with me she met some of Dr. Tanner's patients while waiting in the waiting area. One patient had traveled from Rockford, IL and another from out of state. Both shared positive experiences about his compassionate care and treatment. I spent some time in the ER at Northwestern and to my surprise Dr. Tanner came to visit each morning. He was also kept in the loop about my progress. He has a wonderful bed side manner!!! Overall cancer is for sure the most scariest thing one can face but I'm happy to be linked with an amazing doctor who I feel cares and knows his stuff. This has helped me a great deal in feeling confident to battle this disease. I wish I would've saw him first, I would've got treatment a lot sooner.
