5.0 star star star star starHe’s an expert in his field and yet still patiently listens to all my questions. I never feel like my concerns are dismissed. He explains all options for care, so I am well informed to make decisions on care.

5.0 star star star star starIn addition to all of the reasons above, Dr. Hirano has outstanding technical skills. I trust him more than any other doctor when it comes to endoscopies and diagnoses. He has also provided excellent care to my friends' children with Eosinophilic Esophagitis. He is renowned in this field and easily lives up to his reputation!

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderNot enough explanation given, otherwise excellent. Should have met with my wife right after procedure, when I was still woozy, not really on my poor memory and generic paper handout.

5.0 star star star star starWhile Dr. Hirano's reputation in the research community is well established for good reason, he brings an equal measure of expertise to patient care. He demonstrates warmth and empathy during visits and, importantly, recalls personalized previous medical history details with accuracy, astute observations, and proactive recommendations. That's to say, he does more than recommend 'active surveillance' or watching for symptoms. He thinks outside the 'medical box' and is willing to imagine possibilities that are outside the current standard of care.

5.0 star star star star starOutstanding Physician. Dr. Hirano goes back in my family, treating and healing my elderly Mother, when he was a very young doctor. He was on the top of his game with my surgical procedure. One of my favorite Doctors.

5.0 star star star star starI've been seeing Dr Hirano since 2009. He is the best doctor I've ever encountered. He has the best bed side manor, very professional, very smart, and makes sure his patients are well cared for. He not only treats his patients well but I observe how much he respects his staff.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
