Who is involved in the pediatric psychological testing process?

Several professionals collaborate to complete pediatric psychological testing. Specifically, our multidisciplinary team includes the following providers:

  • Licensed clinical child and adolescent psychologist
  • Board-certified pediatrician
  • Certified psychiatric nurse practitioner

In addition to the members of the multidisciplinary team, a much larger group of individuals may contribute to or participate in the evaluation directly or indirectly, such as by providing information/records for the psychologist to review and integrate into the evaluation findings. For example, information may be gathered from:

  • School staff/educational team: Including teachers, related service providers and a school psychologist/counselor
  • Behavioral health clinicians: Such as inpatient or outpatient therapists and/or psychiatrists
  • Allied health treatment providers: Such as physical, occupational and speech therapists
  • Early intervention therapists
  • Medical professionals: Including the child’s pediatrician and providers from relevant specialties
