Hepatitis C Treatments

Since 2013, several direct-acting, anti-viral medications have been proven to cure chronic hepatitis C. Treatment with these medications may take up to six months. The specific medications prescribed for you will depend on the type of HCV you have, the extent of your liver damage and any previous treatments.

If hepatitis C has caused liver damage, treatments may include:

  • Surgery
  • Liver transplant
  • Monitoring for liver cancer

Lifestyle changes, including eating a healthy diet and eliminating all alcohol
