Symptoms of Tic Disorders

Tics are brief, rapid, repetitive movements and sounds that can affect any part of the body. Different tic disorders may have specific symptoms but may also have similar symptoms to other disorders. Symptoms for this neurological disorder are sudden and unplanned. They include:

  • Head jerking
  • Squinting
  • Blinking
  • Shrugging
  • Grimacing
  • Nose-twitching
  • Any excessively repeated movements, such as foot tapping, leg jerking or scratching
