EOS Imaging
Our goal is to bring tomorrow’s medicine to our patients today. Incorporating the latest advances and technology helps ensure you get the best possible care.
When it comes to care for spine issues, precision and safety matter. Imaging scans use radiation to take high-quality pictures that help us plan your care. While the risk from this radiation is low, our goal is to use the smallest amount possible. That’s why we offer EOS imaging.
EOS imaging uses innovative, low-radiation dose X-ray technology that takes 2D and 3D images of your full-body while you stand in it. It takes a full-body scan in only 20 seconds.
With a scan of you standing up, your physician can more accurately see the natural alignment and posture of your spine in a weight-bearing position. This helps our team develop a more precise diagnosis and treatment plan.
Reduced Radiation
Minimizing radiation is beneficial for everyone, but it’s especially important for people with conditions that need frequent scans, like scoliosis. EOS imaging uses:
- 50% to 85% less radiation than a traditional X-ray
- 95% less than a CT scan
Other conditions that may benefit from EOS imaging may include spinal deformities, spinal stenosis and kyphosis.
Better Benefits
- You will be exposed to less radiation than traditional imaging scans.
- You do not need to lie down for a scan.
- You can have EOS imaging taken in just 15 to 20 seconds.
- The high-quality imaging helps your care team diagnose, monitor and manage your condition with precision.
