5.0 star star star star starMy husband goes with him for some hard problems and so now I'm going to him, and I was comfortable with the fact that he took time to explain things and was very thorough in his exams and sets up the test that are needed

5.0 star star star star starA few years ago, Dr. Towne put two stents in my heart. I entered the hospital via the ER. My procedure was not planned. Dr. Towne was assigned to me. He has been watching over me since that event. I feel fortunate that he is on my care team.

5.0 star star star star starI've been in the care of Dr. Towne since 2001 when experiencing a heart attack. I didn't know him and was extremely fearful to go through surgery with a complete unknown (and taken to Sherman Hospital another unknown). Dr. Towne was so kind and soft spoken My fears subsided. In all these years, his compassion and care has never faltered. There's no good or bad days with him. He's always the same, an added value. A benefit otherwise lost, I know I can talk to him by phone any time, no appointment. He's an example for ALL Northwestern physicians.

5.0 star star star star starI went to Dr. Towne after my stroke two years ago. When he met me, he told me that based on my test results, he expected to see someone in a wheelchair. With that blunt assessment, I trusted him to tell me the truth and not sugarcoat what I had to do to avoid another stroke. Well, I'm happy to report that with his encouragement, understanding and patience, I have lost more than 30 pounds and am in training to run a 5K in two weeks.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Towne seems genuinely concerned about my health. He takes time with me, addresses all of my concerns and questions. I like that he makes clear notes of the appointment so that I can look back at them on MyChart.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg. To learn more about our Disclosure and Professional Integrity Policy, and the conflict of interest policies of our joint affiliate survey partners, please go to our Office for Regulatory Affairs Policies page.
