5.0 star star star star starThis was my first time meeting him after my primary doctor left NW. He was extremely attentive while sharing my medical history. He allowed me to talk before he picked up the conversation and asked what I was looking for in my healthcare and and deepened his understanding of my medical history by asking for clarity. I also left with good feeling that he will be a great partner for my health and well being.

5.0 star star star star starThis was a transfer of care appointment. Dr. Welsh established rapport and credibility, had done his home work on who I am as a patient, offered context on some of the care that I've had in the past and was generous with his time in our discussion of my current age and health concerns.

5.0 star star star star starBest encounter with a physician that I've had at NW, let alone any doctor. He was knowledgable, incredibly kind, great bedside manner, and listened to everything I said and didn't rush me. I felt like a partner in this visit and would 100% recommend him!

5.0 star star star star starDr Welsh listened attentively and expresses care for my health. He validates my questions and concerns by using phrases like, "if I understand what you're saying...," which is reassuring. He always takes time and doesn't rush. He works well with the other staff for a smooth visit.

5.0 star star star star starI have had three major health issues this past year. Dr Welsh was very helpful in helping me in answering some questions that remained after seeing specialists. He is compassionate and calming, helping me navigate the magnitude of dealing with so much in short period of time.

5.0 star star star star starHe was great on my initial visit for a Primary Care physician. He reviewed my past info, discussed medications, suggested ideas to improve, asked to updated labs and reviewed target objective numbers for my diabetes.

5.0 star star star star starI saw Dr. Welsh this past week for a first-time appointment to establish care. He was incredibly kind, professional, and thorough. He did not rush through the appointment and took time to listen to my full family history and my concerns. He had great recommendations for me and laid out a nice plan for moving forward. I would highly recommend Dr. Welsh for anyone who is looking for a thorough doctor with excellent bedside manner who doesn't make you feel like you're just a number.

5.0 star star star star starDr Welsh was so personable and put me at ease. He really took his time getting to know me and my medical history. And he got me caught up on overdue shots and tests. He was very knowledgeable, very kind and I feel so much better having met with him.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Welsh is very kind and respectful. Both times I've seen him he has taken a generous amount of time to listen and note each of my concerns, given me multiple perspectives for treatment, and sent me a written follow-up afterwards to make sure everything we discussed gets attention. I've never had a primary care physician who seems to care as much about helping people as he does.

5.0 star star star star starShea Welsh is the absolute best. My wife and I had been with a Northwestern provider, Marilyn Pearson, for a long time, at least 10 years, and with her sudden retirement, were left without a provider. My wife had searched for a new provider and found Shea Welsh. We were nervous about starting with someone new but he turned out to be everything we could've hoped for -- knowledgeable, kind, compassionate and very personable. After the first appt, we felt like we had known him for years. He is wonderful!

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
