5.0 star star star star starThe best!!! Totally one of the most caring people I have ever met!! She asks for your input as time goes along throughout one's geriatric appointment which makes the patient feel really heard and part of the decision on steps ahead. Never could one feel that they were just talked to with all decided by the doctor without their comments and input welcomed and actually heard. One thing I really appreciate is that she asks if she could record your session thus enabling her to enter notes later and not being entering and listening at the same time. Following from the above question, my brother is also totally impressed when I review my appointments and upcoming health plans and he totally agrees. My sister is in an elderly care facility downstate and never do I tell her of my NW experiences. It would be so unfair and inappropriate and she is in a respected care facility! A dream would be that many more could experience my NW care! Never do I feel upset should I find myself waiting beyond my appointment time. It only says that those before me are experiencing the extra special care I am about to receive. Certainly this is more than I could ever have dreamed of from an elderly care physician and, with each visit, I pick up a few more cards to pass on to my elderly friends.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Petrakos cares about her patients in Assisted Living. She goes the extra mile to communicate with me about my loved one, as does her team. Whether through the patient portal or on the phone. It's a collaborative effort to determine optimum medical treatment. Her expertise is geriatric care, plus she is a kind, compassionate person.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Petrakos is really wonderful. Her care concern and reality is clear. Her fellow, Sarah is equally excellent. I am having a hard time with the federal funding being cut off for northwestern, especially for research programs like alzhiemers and cancer. I was grateful they listened to my concerns. I want to do more to help get the federal funding returned.

5.0 star star star star starActually this is covered in my first answer. I was directed to her through my retiring doctor's PA, Madison Kaiser who contacted the doctor's office from whom I received a call within one-half hour ready to speak to me about the doctor and see if I was wanting to set up an appointment. Unfortunately she is extremely popular and her next open appointment may be in 6 mos. Thank you for MyChart where I can look up whenever, including late at night, and pick up an open earlier cancellation. Can't express what a dream doctor I now have!

5.0 star star star star starI have a good feeling about her. When I failed in my first 2 attempts to set up an appointment with 2 other Geriatric Medicine doctors and succeeded with Dr. Petrakos, I believe God led me to her. It took 2 years to find the right PCP for me and this is it. Thank you, Lord, for your blessed guidance.

5.0 star star star star starDr Petrakos knows who I am. She listens closely, ask me questions about my health and my concerns and whether I need additional explanation. We go over every medication, discuss recommended treatment options risk and benefits. She allows enough time so I don't feel she's rushing to get to the next patient.
