5.0 star star star star starDr. Petrakos really stood out for her compassion, patience, and expertise in geriatrics. I honestly never experienced before how helpful it could be to have a doctor with her kind of expertise. She is an innovative problem solver who brought in a portable listening device so that I could hear her better. I never had a doctor who would think outside the box like that before. She also gave generously the precious gift of her time to learn about me. She respected my ideas and wishes. As a senior, I felt heard. Dr. Petrakos is an excellent physician who is a great asset to Northwestern.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Alex is AMAZING, kind, intelligent, clear and very well versed in dealing with my mom's situation. she takes time to give well thought out responses, and includes my mom, even though she doesn't understand everything, my mom responds well to her care. I noticed she was equally caring with her staff, and arranging the timing. She's a realist with what care needs to be given and gives really good advice about handling my mom.

5.0 star star star star starThis was the best experience I have ever had with a doctor. She is welcoming, not writing on her computer through tthe entire initial appointment. She reviewed my prior health issues, current concerns, what I wished to accomplish in my life and how medical care could help. Made many suggestions of possible opportunities offered at NW. Totally listened, asked my thoughts on her recommendations and possible med changes. Total thorough and confidence instilling.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
