5.0 star star star star starDr. Brent has a great balance between caring and being positive - and not sugar coating a challenging and often times complicated and difficult diagnosis like ALS. *Very Grateful to have him and his A-Team a big part of my ongoing medical care. The fact that he is leading research to find a cure is also very important to me!

5.0 star star star star starWhen you have ALS it is important to find a Dr who is passionate about finding a cure - in addition to being a sharp MD / PHD who treats the illness and symptoms. *I feel that Dr Brent (and the team at Northwestern) are just that.

5.0 star star star star starSpent his time, asked good questions and was extremely connected with our only conversation to support and corroborate what I thought. Walked me out and offered, although no follow up expected, to be there for me for whatever I needed. He is stellar

5.0 star star star star starStaff is friendly and efficient. The only problem we had this time for a teleconference is that we never received the link. The first time I called was 30 minutes before the scheduled appointment. I was told to wait. I called back 30 minutes after the appointment because I still hadn't received the link. At that time when I called to check with the office they had Dr. Brent call within a short period of time.

5.0 star star star star starDr Brent is very thorough in his evaluation and shares his findings with the patient and his family. His testing and plan for management clearly outlined and justified. I realize my case presents a diagnostic challenge and there are several possible causes of my symptoms, but I hope that with Dr Brent's help we can be successful.

4.0 star star star star star_borderBeing the first visit with Dr. Jonathan Brent, he showed a genuine interest in trying to scope out a plan of care for my medical condition. I was very touched by his professionalism. I observed him actually listening to me, not at anytime taking long breaths, talking condescending to me, telling me (he doesn't think) my condition is genuine. In so many words, I felt comfortable that this doctor (would try) to do the best he could to seek out the appropriate care for my condition.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
