Dr. Maanasi Samant is very personable. She appears to have thorough knowledge of her field and area of expertise. She was very interested in my progress at home towards becoming the healthy person I have always been before the blood clots diagnosis. Dr. Samant explained the result of my last CT test. She showed my wife and me the actual CT scans from July, when I was diagnosed, to October the three month check up, and now at 6 months, pointing out the comparison.

I don't know how to exactly say this, but after meeting and talking with Dr. Samant, I felt TRULY blessed to have had the opportunity to have her on my side. Dr. Samant is an excellent listener (despite all of my crazy stories), is patient, knowledgeable and I know very compassionate......I need a new PCP and wish it could be a clone of Dr. Samant!!!!

External Professional Relationships

Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
