3.0 star star star star_border star_borderThe procedure went well, but some his interpersonal skills could use improvement. For example, disparaging a patient's tattoos is not appropriate or relevant to a conversation about their GI health.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Karilis listened closely to my concerns and symptoms. He explained his treatment plan and perspective of possible causes for my condition in a coherent manner. I felt he listened and was genuine in helping me.

0.0 star_border star_border star_border star_border star_borderSame as above, it takes too long to get an appointment, he spent hardly any time with me, and was looking for reasons not to do anything rather than trying to help me figure out what is going on.

5.0 star star star star starI trust him as a Doctor. I feel better every time I have an Endoscopy. I have had approximately 3 of these procedures. My only issue with Dr. Kahralis is communication. His nurse Sabrina is very good.

0.0 star_border star_border star_border star_border star_borderWhen we arrived the receptionist got us registered as fast as she could because the traffic took us longer than anticipated so we were 10 minutes late. The medical assistant took my husband right back. She did his vitals and asked about his meds that he takes. I handed her a list that i had already written. Then she handed us some papers to fill in. The doctor came in right behind her taking over. We never had a chance to fill in the paperwork. I open up the My NM app on my phone to see if the After Visit Summary is in there and it was along with the Progress notes. Under the review of systems it states " Please refer to the patient-completed form that we reviewed" I would like to know how can it say that when we did not discuss it.?? Under physical exam How does that get filled in when the doctor did not touch him at all. Wouldn't you have to touch someone's abdomen to tell if it was soft and non-tender with no palpable?? How do you know if the Oral mucosa is pink and moist when you don't look in the nose or throat? With Cardiovascular how do you know it is RRR with no edema in the extremities when you DO NOT listen to the patients heart or check his extremities! Please explain this to me???Yes I understand we were late but I do not think my husband deserved this kind of treatment!!

3.0 star star star star_border star_borderDr. Kahrilas was somewhat distant. If someone comes to a Dr. with medical concerns they should not feel that they are wasting their time coming to see a specialist for their opinion. I would not recommend the Dr.

5.0 star star star star starDr Kahrilas was extremely thorough and was the first physician to have a alternative reason for my medical issue, that another physician had missed. He is very detailed in his patient interview process and very easy to speak with.

External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
