5.0 star star star star starActually, I would like to give a 20 (or even more) for Dr. Matei. I have had a bad experience with my oncologist, which caused me to seek out Dr. Matei. Dr. Matei and her team were very informed/aware of my case and history. I was treated with kindness, gentleness, and honesty. Most importantly, I was given hope and clear information on what my future treatment would be - please know that I walked in to this appointment having very, very little hope and under the impression that I had no treatment options should my cancer return. When you meet with Dr. Matei, it is absolutely clear that she is brilliant and knowledgeable, yet she is kind and gentle. She made direct eye contact with me throughout the appointment and never once looked at a computer. I would like to be the president of the Dr. Matei fan club!

5.0 star star star star starDr Matei always has ample time to speak with me, answer my questions and discuss all new research results that may impact my care and treatment options in the future. I also like her team, especially her NPs. They are all super efficient and responsive to any questions or requests I have via MyChart.

5.0 star star star star starDr. Matei is one of the best she is patient and she listens not many doctors do that and I appreciate her for that. I always leave my visits feeling assured that I am in good hands because I am well informed about everything that is going on with the direction of care for me.

She is respectful of your needs and intently listens to your questions and/or concerns, and she never makes you feel like you are inconveniencing her. External Professional Relationships
Pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies frequently collaborate with basic scientists and physicians within an academic medical center to help advance science and improve patient care. These relationships are important in achieving scientific breakthroughs and in establishing the effectiveness and safety of promising new therapies. In order to assure objectivity in clinical research and patient care, the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine (Feinberg), Northwestern Memorial HealthCare, Children's Hospital of Chicago Medical Center, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab have adopted integrity policies that require research and clinical faculty (in full-time, part-time, and unpaid/voluntary categories) to report compensated and uncompensated external industry relationships. Patients are encouraged to discuss these disclosures with their physician as well as to inquire as to how these relationships are overseen by Feinberg.
