1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderThe doctor misdiagnosed me with a condition I clearly don’t have (costrocondritis) and had no knowledge of Long COVID (even thought I was referred specifically to her through the Northwestern Long Covid clinic). She was very polite and did not rush me through the appointment, which I did appreciate.

1.0 star star_border star_border star_border star_borderDr. Evans completely dismissed all of my concerns and symptoms, advising that I seek out therapy for my “anxiety†I have never had or been diagnosed with, and told me I should try meditation and yoga as the symptoms I’m feeling “are in my head†and every time I feel them, they get worse because my mind makes them worse. Since my symptoms began after I had Covid, she told me that it was because I haven’t been active after I had Covid, despite the fact that I told her I workout 4x/week and participate in cardiovascular-heavy activities 2-3x/week. She went over my Holter monitor results with me and scrolled past all of the times I triggered the monitor and continuously told me everything was “normal,†despite my triggers to the monitor and concerns of a high HR while just sitting on the couch and laying in bed. She told me to workout more, do more cardio, and see a therapist. I left my appointment feeling frustrated, defeated, and in tears, as I have had 5+ doctors and specialists over the past 2.5 years since having Covid tell me that my heart is “normal†and I just needed someone to listen to me. It is NOT normal to feel my heart beat out of my chest while just laying in bed with no outside stressors or things to make me anxious. I felt as thought Dr. Evans did not listen to me as she would “answer†my questions and concerns with what seemed to be a premeditated answer, regardless of what I would say. I feel no closer to finding the answers I so desperately need and again, I feel completely defeated and unmotivated to continue to seek out answers and interventions that may help me.

I felt the doctor was well prepared for my visit, familiar with my test results, did a great job explaining my treatment options, and listened to my preferences. I feel confident that all Dr. Evans’ patients receive the same excellent care.

She listens, explains, & describes my issues in a very intelligent, tactful & hopeful way, with a very calming presence. I am so glad that I found her and that she has a location close to home. She is a breath of fresh air.
