Lake Forest Hospital Specialty Awards
Lake Forest Hospital Specialty Awards / Recognition Accreditation 2017 – 2020
The Beacon Award for Excellence honors individual units that distinguish themselves by improving every facet of patient care. Beacon awardees set the standard for excellence in patient care environments by collecting and utilizing evidence-based information to improve patient outcomes, and patient and staff satisfaction.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP)® sets the global standard for residency programs that transition newly licensed registered nurses (RNs) into the practice setting. Northwestern Medicine Lake Forest Hospital Nurse Residency Program is accredited with distinction as a Practice Transition Program by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation in Practice Transition Programs.
The ENA Lantern Award recognizes emergency departments that demonstrate exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research — a way to showcase your ED’s accomplishments in incorporating evidence-based practice and innovation into emergency care, and a visible symbol of your commitment to quality, safety, and a healthy work environment.
The Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI®) Certification Program provides a three-year certification recognizing high-quality care for outpatient hematology-oncology practices within the United States. The QOPI Certification Program is also piloting an international program. Adapted from the 2016 ASCO/Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Administration Safety Standards, QOPI Certification Program Standards intend to reduce the risk of errors when providing chemotherapy to patients with cancer. Standards serve as the framework for the program and a guide to the best practices in oncology care. Practices receive QOPI Certification based on their full compliance with all standards as assessed during an on-site survey of each practice.
